Friday Night Football Roundup — Week 5
Recap Week 5’s football with the Friday Night Football Roundup.

Many of Houston County’s teams were on a bye week last week, but five were back in action on Friday.
Here’s a roundup of Friday’s football.
Houston County
Houston County took care of business in Tifton, beating Tift County 42-19 on the road. Neither team gained much ground for the first quarter and a half, but the Bears turned it on and connected on a couple of touchdowns to make it 21-6 at halftime.
Jordan Smith came away with a big interception as Tift County tried to add a score before halftime.
Northside
The Northside offense struggled on Friday as they lost to Burke County 14-6 on the road. They were unable to find the end zone; Their only scores came on field goals in the first and fourth quarters.
The defense did a good job holding a potent Burke County offense (averaged 40 points per game coming into the game), but their own offense couldn’t connect enough to come away with the win.
Perry

Perry bounced back from being held to -10 rushing yards as they dominated Veterans on Freedom Field in a 38-0 victory. All but one of their touchdowns came on the ground, and the defense stepped up on the final drive of the game to preserve the shutout.
Veterans

The Warhawks were unable to secure their first win as they failed to score at all for the first time this season in a 38-0 loss to Perry. High snaps, dropped snaps and passes in a rainy Friday game hindered the offense as they cycled through three quarterbacks.
Warner Robins
The Demons were on a bye week this week. They play Veterans next week at home.
Westfield

Down 14-13 with under a minute to go, Stone St. Clair delivered the game to the Hornets on a silver platter as he ran down the left sideline to put Westfield up for a 21-14 final at home.
