Four arrests made in Warner Robins home invasion

WARNER ROBINS — Four people have been arrested following a home invasion that took place in late May, the Warner Robins Police Department announced Tuesday.

According to a release by the department, Latronza Burke Jr., Jatavious Leyva and two 17-year-old juveniles were arrested and charged with various counts related to the home invasion.

Burke was charged with two counts of criminal attempt to commit a home invasion, two counts of home invasion, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Leyva and the two juveniles were charged with two counts of criminal attempt to commit a home invasion, two counts of home invasion, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of armed robbery.

The incident the charges stem from took place May 21, around 2:15 a.m., at a home on the 400 block of Jackie Boulevard. 

Two victims, identified as Jesus Briceno-Vargas and Yessica Casas-Castillo, were asleep when they were awakened by a crashing noise at their front door. Two suspects entered their bedroom, wielding firearms and demanding money. 

The suspects stole multiple items from the home and one shot Briceno-Vargas in the forearm. He was transported to a local hospital and was reported stable.

After the investigation, law enforcement arrested the four suspects believed to have been involved. Detectives later learned the suspects unsuccessfully attempted to enter two additional houses nearby.
