Football season is officially over as Houston County’s two remaining teams fell on the road on Friday in the second round of the GHSA playoffs.
Houston County

The Bears hosted their first playoff game at Freedom Field, and first in a decade, last week in their most lopsided final in six weeks with a 59-14 score over Creekview.
They drew Rome in the second round, and despite ending the second and third quarters tied, fell 38-28 as the Wolves scored 10 unanswered in the final period.
Championship aspirations aside the 2025 season was the most successful in Jeremy Edwards now four-year tenure, finishing with a 10-2 overall record and a second place region finish.
HoCo finished with double digit wins for just the fifth time in program history.
Warner Robins

Warner Robins’ late-season magic ended on Friday as they lost to Cartersville 64-0 on the road, topping their worst loss in program history (earlier this season), a 61-0 final at Benedictine.
The Demons turned around what some considered to be a lost season after a 32-10 loss to Wayne County and the Benedictine loss. They won three straight to end the regular season and secure a home playoff game, a 28-14 win over Eastside.
That marked the eighth time in nine years Warner Robins advanced past the first round and 15th consecutive playoff appearance.
Shane Sams ended his third season with a Region 1-4A Coach of the Year selection, and his overall record is now 23-13.
