Jim Flaviani from Warner Robins has been

chosen as the Museum of Aviation Volunteer of the Quarter. Jim grew up in

Brooklyn and joined the U.S. Air Force at age 16. His career was predominantly

in Air Traffic Control and he was stationed at numerous locations including a

tour at Robins Air Force Base where retired in 1985 as an E-7.

In the civilian marketplace Jim worked as in automotive service technician and

worked for a short time as a civil service employee in Airfield Management at

Robins AFB before retiring again in 2003. Jim has been passionate about the

history of the U.S. Air Force for over 35 years with a special interest in

chronicling Air Force Pilot Training. He even has his own website: www.usafupt.com.

He has been married to his wife Tracy for 27 years. Jim says, “Because of that

she should be nominated for sainthood.” He has been a patron of the museum

since it first opened, and in February of 2011 decided to become a volunteer. He

is one of the Museum’s dedicated tour guides and “loves sharing history and

Aerospace Education with kids and adults alike.”
