The Feed Center Outreach Free Medical Clinic of Fort Valley held an open house and ribbon cutting celebration at its 310 Carver Dr. location on June 10.

In its fifth year of operation, the Feed Center Free Medical Clinic is monitored for Quality Assurance through the State of Georgia’s Department of Public Health. The clinic is a community-supported organization dedicated to providing primary health care services to the low-income, uninsured residents of Peach County and surrounding communities. Last fall, the Free Medical Clinic moved to an expanded outreach schedule for free medical services and is currently working on establishing a Free Outreach Dental Clinic adjacent to the Free Medical Clinic.

The Free Medical Clinic is open Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–6 p.m.

The facility continues to help to meet the ever-increasing requests for care from Peach County residents and many from the surrounding communities, according to Dr. Sylvia Greene, who serves assistant director at the clinic.

“The community really came together to help us establish the Feed Center Outreach Free Medical Clinic,” said Feed Center Outreach Ministries founder and executive director Al Sanders. “Thanks to the outstanding support and volunteer efforts, the clinic has been able to keep up with the outreach free medical services ever-increasing needs especially since the Peach Regional hospital moved into its new location.

“The Clinic is able to provide free medical services because of the generosity of many volunteers mainly from the Medical Field and financially operates strictly on donations from the public, along with all of the other Feed Center Outreach ministries. There are many individuals and groups who worked especially hard to renovate the space and many dedicated Free Medical Clinic professional staff and volunteers who continue to keep it open for free medical services to our people,” said Sanders.

The Feed Center is a Christ-centered outreach ministry founded in 2005 by Sanders, who is a retired 22-year veteran of the United States Air Force, and his wife of 24 years, Chywana. The Feed Center is a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization headquartered at 313 Carver Drive in Fort Valley.

The Feed Center Outreach Ministries include Meals on Wheels, Food Bank, Free Clothing, Girls, Boys and Adult Mentoring Programs, Substance Abuse Assistance, Worship Center, hosting several Community Events a Year, along with the Free Medical Clinic. Transportation is also provided with a handicap lift for persons who are in need of this service.
