Dorothy Rhu Nell Martin Leverett
KATHLEEN — Nell Leverett, 82, was called home to the Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
Nell was born on Feb. 4, 1935 in Hawkinsville, Georgia, to the late Jack and Lou Martin. Her life was devoted to faithfully serving her husband and raising her children with love. Nell was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Centerville, where she was a much-loved Sunday school teacher and member of the bereavement committee. Also a member of the Warner Robins Garden Club, she enjoyed gardening, yard work and crocheting. Nell will forever be remembered with love and affection by her family, friends and all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Joseph Crowder Leverett Jr., and five sisters.
Nell leaves her memory behind with her loving sons, Jason Leverett (Donna) of Kathleen and Joey Leverett (Kim) of Gainesville; grandchildren, Koey E., Kara Grace, Charlie and Chance Leverett; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was Sunday, March 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 6, at First Baptist Church of Centerville. Following the service, Mrs. Leverett was laid to rest next to her husband at First Baptist Church Centerville Cemetery.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Nell to First Baptist Church Centerville Cemetery, 108 Church St., Centerville, GA 31028; to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088; or to your favorite charity.
The family would also like to thank the staff at Summerhill, Heart of Georgia Hospice and Kingsford Assisted Living for all of their love and kindness shared during the past years.
