The Warner Robins Demons Football team traveled to South Georgia on October 29 to square off against the Coffee County Trojans. Both the Trojans and the Demons came into the matchup with a one in their loss column.

The Warner Robins Demons played very offensively and defensively sound throughout the course of the game. The Demons would get three points on their opening drive, as kicker Daniel Barber made a 25-yard field goal. The Coffee Trojans broke the plain first, which made the score 7-3. Demons gunslinger Christon Lane connected with standout slot receiver Daveon Walker on a 65-yard bomb. This Demon touchdown made the score 10-7 as the game transitioned into halftime.

After an impressive three-and-out for the Demons to open the second half, the Warner Robins offense setup with great field position and lined up on the Trojans’ 13-yard line. JaFredrick Perry sprinted down the field, untouched, for the Demons’ first rushing score of the game. The Demons did not look back as Malcom Brown added a 33-yard rushing score for the Warner Robins Demons. Daniel Barber missed his final two-point after attempts for the Demons, to make the score 22-7.

The Warner Robins Defense played very physical throughout the game and shutout the Coffee Trojans for the final three-and-a-half quarters of play. The Demons defense held Coffee to only 268 yards of total offense. The Demons defense also caught two interceptions, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble as well. The Warner Robins Demons allotted 384 yards of total offense against the Coffee Trojan Defense.

The Warner Robins Demons Football team remains as the third best team in Georgia, overall. The Demons currently hold the top spot as the best team in the Greater Macon Area and the best team in GHSA Class AAAAA. The Demons are getting every team’s best shot, because the Warner Robins team is still the 75th best high school football team in the United States, according to MaxPreps. Though MaxPreps ranks the Demons as the 75th best high school football team in the country, USA Today believes otherwise. In the USA Today TOP 100 High School Football teams in America, The Demons from War-Town are ranked 51. Under the Massey Ratings, the Warner Robins Demons Football team is thirteenth overall, as a top gridiron team in America. Currently there are seven players to keep an eye out for on the Demons sidelines; Defensive End Victor Burley, Slot reciever Daveon Walker, Running back Malcom Brown, Defensive Back Antwon Jackson, offensive lineman CJ Brooks and Jose Gonzalez and Senior Quaterback Christon Lane. These seven players will make an impact at the collegiate level in the near future.

The win improves Warner Robins’ season record to 8-1 overall and 2-1 in the region. The Coffee Trojans fall to 7-2 on the season. The Demons will play at home for their final regular season game of the season. The Warhawks, from Kathleen’s Veteran High School, will play their cross-town region rival Warner Robins on November 5. Kick-off is set for 7:30.
