Demons improve to 9-5 on the hardwood
The Warner Robins Demons played back-to-back games last weekend, which began their year of 2022. The Yellow Jackets from Wayne County will play at home against the Warner Robins Demons on Saturday January 15.
The Yellow Jackets, from Jesup, are 10-5 overall, 4-1 at home and 5-2 on the road. The Demons improved to 8-5 (1-0) in the region while the Warner Robins Demons are 6-1 at home and 1-2 on the road this season.
The Demons have scored 841 points and have allowed 716 points this season. They are on a six-game winning streak, which dates back to 2021. On Friday, January 7, the Demons hosted the Ware County Gators and went on to win 77-40.
“Warner Robins played exceptionally well on both ends of the floor,” said a representative of the Warner Robins coaching staff.
On Saturday, January 8, the Northside Eagles and the Warner Robins Demons played “War-Town”, but the Northside Eagles fell to 2-8 overall after a 74-59 loss at home. The Eagles played the Demons very good, early on. Centavious Lowe created a spark of momentum for the Northside Eagles, but the Demons were too strong on the defensive end of the court. Centavious Lowe dunked on Warner Robins defender, Pete Brady, during the third quater. Brady is one of the Demons taller defenders, standing at six-foot, five inches tall. Centavious Lowe finished the game with 7 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and four blocks. The Northside Eagles were led in scoring by Ricardo Jones, who scored 12 of his 15 points during the second half. Gage Williams played a very competitive game for the Eagles as well. Williams added eight points to the 59 points scored for the Eagles. Keron Milton scored another seven points for the Northside Eagles, but the Eagles fell short. 11 Warner Robins players scored during last weekend’s blowout win.Camryn Perkins was the leading scorer for the Warner Robins Demons. Perkins scored 12 points, Rashaun Williams added 9 points, Jordyan Keith, Corey “Duece” Petty, Gabriel Jacobs, Cam Flowers and Antwon Jackson each scored 8 points against the Northside Eagles.
Tip-off for Saturday’s game will be at 6 p.m. Other team statistics were not available in time for Houston Home Journal’s press deadline on yesterday morning.
