WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Warner Robins kicked off the season with a bang, as they dominated Houston County in all aspects of the game Wednesday. From the opening tip-off, their defense was smothering Houston County, and their offense was extremely efficient. They jumped out to a 22-6 lead in the second period, and they never looked back.

Jada Morgan led the team in scoring with 19 points — she almost had a triple-double, finishing with nine rebounds and eight steals. Nevaeh Mack was second in scoring, and she finished with 18 points, three rebounds and two steals. Warner Robins was relentless, as they almost scored at will. At halftime, they were up 49-14, and they kept the pressure on all game.

In the second half, Tasia Agee was all over the court. A multi-sport athlete, she has blazing speed and tremendous athletic ability. She finished with 14 points, two rebounds and five steals. Tori Davis also finished with 14 points on the night. Warner Robins’ offense was just too explosive for Houston County, and their defense is on another level. They stretched the lead in the third quarter, and they only gave up 19 points in the entire game — it was a first-class performance.

By the time it was all over, Warner Robins had dropped 90 points on Houston County, and they cruised to a 90-19 victory. Houston County couldn’t slow the Demons down, and they will have to regroup and work on their defense. Warner Robins is one of the best teams in the state, however, so it will be difficult for any team to slow down that prolific offense.

“The girls have been excited to get back on the floor this year,” Warner Robins Coach Rebecca White said. “Our last game from last year has been their motivation throughout the summer. They played hard and played as a team; we still have a lot of work to do. We will keep working.”

Last season, Warner Robins made it all the way to the Final Four in the GHSA playoffs, but they lost to Woodward Academy. This season, they are looking for revenge, and they want to get back to the playoffs and bring home that state title. They are loaded with talent, and they hope to build off of that playoff experience and go even further this season.

Warner Robins will play their first region game Tuesday, as they travel to Locust Grove. But first, they will face Baldwin on Saturday in a non-region matchup.

If you get a chance, go out and see these ladies — their up-tempo playing style is exciting to watch, and they will only get better as the season progresses.
