WARNER ROBINS, Ga. – The Warner Robins Demonettes gave a strong effort in their first region game of the season, but fell 12-0 to the Union Grove Lady Wolverines.

Head coach Rebecca White went with Leanne Butts to start on the mound, and said before the game she wanted Butts to hone in and find the strike zone for Tuesday’s game.

Butts struggled with that in the first inning as she walked three players and a couple of wild pitches cost the Demonettes four runs.

After the first inning, though, her defense stepped up behind her and held the Lady Wolverines scoreless for the second and third innings.

Unfortunately, in the fourth inning, Butts was hit by a ball on her left shin and had to leave the game.

The Lady Wolverines, behind Alexis Parson on the mound, were able to keep the Demonettes’ from scoring at all throughout the game.

In the fourth and fifth innings the Lady Wolverines’ bats got hot and the game ended in a mercy rule at the end of the fifth inning, the Demonettes losing 12-0.
