Conservative Union honors Tolleson

The American Conservative Union recognized Sen. Ross Tolleson (R-Perry) for his strong support of bills based on conservative principles during the 2013 legislation session.

He was named a recipient of the group’s Conservative Award on Aug. 13 at a reception held at the Georgia World Congress Center.

“I’m honored to receive this award from the American Conservative Union, an organization that supports our basic rights as Americans,” said Sen. Tolleson.  “Our country was developed on the ideals of individual liberty and freedom and I remain dedicated to upholding these privileges during my time in the legislature.”

In 2011, the American Conservative Union launched a new initiative to bring its annual Ratings of Congress – considered the gold standard of conservative voter education guides – to the state level, issuing inaugural ratings of state legislators in five battleground states: Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia. Last year, ACU graded state legislators in 15 critical states and this year they are expanding their ratings to 20 states.

In our second year rating the Peach State, we applaud conservatives in the Georgia General Assembly who continue to fight for Second Amendment rights, the right to life, and against Obamacare.”
