Chuck Chalk will run for mayor in Warner Robins
Chuck Chalk announced his candidacy for mayor of Warner
Robins at a press conference Tuesday.
Chalk cited collective solidarity and fellowship
throughout trying events in the community as inspiration behind his decision to
run for public office.
Although Chalk’s choice is newfound, his dedication to the
city of Warner Robins is long established.
Chalk noted his quiet presence over the past four years at
city council meetings and his keen involvement within local government,
mentioning an intentional effort to stay out of the public spotlight.
Chalk stressed an effort to advance and move away from the
dysfunction that he said has stunted the city’s growth. He noted the greatness
within Warner Robins and said that an attainable vision for the city is the key
to maximizing its potential. Chalk’s plan for progress includes greater importance placed
on fairness, respect and the individual citizen’s involvement with local
government all in hopes of facing “a brighter tomorrow.”
Chalk completed a master’s degree in public administration
from Georgia College and State University in 2010 and is currently in the
process of fulfilling a master’s degree in organized leadership at Mercer
University.
Originally from Detroit, Chalk was raised in Cordele and has 26 years of
service within the United States Air Force, presently being the Team Leader for
a $200+ program at Robins Air Force Base.
Additionally, Chalk leads a weekly adult Sunday school class
and participates as a member of the Rotary Club.
