Chestnut ~ Rountree
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Chestnut Jr. of Fort Valley are pleased to
announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Earlsworth (Worth) Chestnut, to
Samuel Lawrence Rountree Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Rountree of Brunswick
and Dr. and Mrs. Duane Cochran of St. Simons Island.
The bride-elect’s maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and
Mrs. Howard Brown of Byron, and her paternal grandparents are Mrs. J.K.
Chestnut Sr. and the late J.K. Chestnut Sr. of Savannah. She is a graduate of
Westfield School, she attended Berry College and she is a graduate of Macon
State College with a degree in public service. She is currently the development
manager at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia.
The groom-elect’s maternal grandparents are Mrs. William L.
Hardee and the late William L. Hardee of Jesup, and his paternal grandparents
the late Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Rountree of Brunswick. He is a graduate of Georgia
Southern University with a bachelor of science in hospitality management, and
was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He is currently the clubhouse manager at
Idle Hour Country Club.
The wedding will be held April 10 at 6 p.m. on St. Simons
Island.
