CGSA club wearing pink as part of support for Koman Foundation

The CGSA (Central Georgia Soccer Association) U-15 Boys sported pink ribbon socks the whole month in October as a way to spread awareness for breast cancer research and encourage donations to this important cause.

The boys are part of a competitive soccer team which travels all over Georgia and within the Southeast in addition to playing on their home field in Warner Robins. For every goal scored by the team, $100 will be donated to the Susan G Komen for the Cure Foundation, on behalf of the CGSA U-15 Boys.

The soccer team is encouraging the out of town clubs they visit to raise funds in similar ways and show their support. So far $500 has been raised with more games and donations yet to come.

CGSA as a club has been a supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness month by hosting “Pink Out” day, lining all soccer fields in pink paint, serving up pink pancakes and inviting members from the local Susan G Komen for the Cure Foundation to attend and distribute information and ways to help fight and prevent breast cancer. All proceeds raised during these events have been donated to the Susan G Komen for the Cure Foundation.
