Celebrating Houston Healthcare career of 26 years
Family, friends, and co-workers of Adeline Rogers gathered on Friday to celebrate her career of 26 years.
Rogers retired from environmental services with Houston Healthcare. Houston Healthcare Director of Environmental Services Dan Thompson said Rogers has been a wonderful blessing.
“I have been in this role for three years now, and truly going to miss Adeline,” said Thompson. “She’s above average in everything and sets the stage for everyone. If our team strayed away, she would always put us back in balance. Never a complaint and did the job with grace. I am grateful for her years and wish her well in her retirement.”
Rogers said she never imagined working for 26 years in one place.
“My friends were the ones to tell me about this job, and never did I think I would stay for 26 years,” said Rogers. “I have enjoyed my job, helping people and my co-workers. But it’s now time for me to enjoy my family. I have five daughters, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Not to mention, I need to catch up with work on my own house (Rogers said laughing).”
Rogers also said her first week of retirement will be a four-day cruise to the Bahamas.
