Carson inks NLI to Charleston Southern

WARNER ROBINS, Ga — The Warner Robins Lady Demonettes had a successful year on the track and field. Lady Demonette Zemaya Carson was a pivotal part of their success in 2022.

Carson released the following statement prior to signing her national letter of intent: “As a kid I always dreamed of a day like this where I finally make a commitment post. Well that day has finally come. But before I say anything I just want to say thank you to my parents for being my number one supporters, for always believing in me, for pushing me to be the person I am today because without them I wouldn’t have made it this far. Also I want to thank my family and friends who supported me throughout this journey and most importantly my coaches for pushing me to be better everyday. With that being said I’m proud to say that I will be continuing my athletic and academic journey at Charleston Southern University! I want to thank everyone who believed in me and hope you all continue to support me on this 4 –year journey.”

It was the third week of May when Zemaya Carson signed her national letter of intent and became the newest member of the Charleston Southern women’s track and field team. The Charleston Southern Lady Buccaneers compete in the NCAA divison-one.Charleston Southern is a member of the Big South Conference and has nine women sports. Zemaya Carson will graduate with honors from Warner Robins High School today.

During her career as a Lady Demonette, Zemaya Carson threw the shot put and participated in the discus throw. Carson was also a member of the Warner Robins Lady Demonette basketball team.

Just this spring, Carson competed in the GHSA State Championships presented by the Atlanta Track Club. At the 5A state championships, Carson placed fifth in the women’s discus throw. Alongside being an All-State discus thrower, Zemaya Carson performed well enough to make the shot put All-State team as well. In the shot put, Zemaya Carson was the 2022 GHSA class 5A state runner-up.

Prior to moving to Charleston, Carson will participate in the commencement exercises at Reeves Arena at the Georgia National Fairgrounds.
