A hit and run accident earlier this year involving Anthony and Alicia Campiglia, left the couple in distress, both medically and financially. Last weekend, a recovery ride, organized by the BYKR BROZ, kicked off to help the still struggling family. On Saturday, June 12, 2021, the effort called “A & A Recovery Ride” started at 2:00 in the afternoon in the parking lot of the Museum of Aviation. From there, riders and drivers began their journey to the BYKR BROZ clubhouse. Around 5:00 p.m., the live auction, 50/50 raffle, live music and food portion of the event took place.

Hardrock Harvey, the president of the BYKR BROZ, was the one who decided to organize this event. He said, “The very night it happened, I told the people that we had people responsible for setting that up. I pulled the trigger on it and said we’re doing the event, pick a date, let’s make it happen.” Harvey described the biker community as one that is dedicated to a variety of other communities in addition to their own.

Gina DeFranco is an involved member of this group and also helped organize the recovery ride. When asked about future events, DeFranco responded, “We do a ride annually every September for autism. We’ve done several benefit rides for children with cancer and things of that nature.”

While this may not be the BYKR BROZ first ride, it certainly was one of the biggest. Through donations and a participation fee for the ride, the BYKR BROZ were able to raise $20,250, with a turnout of over 80 bikes and jeeps.

DeFranco said, “We needed to come together as a club and as a community to try and help this family out. We hope to provide a positive, good day for Anthony, Alicia, and their family. Today is all about them and all of us coming together to raise as much money as we can to help them out. All of it combined, together, all of these profits will go toward the family.”

The road to recovery for the Campiglia family is long and hard. Any donations are still being accepted. Contact Gina DeFranco at (478) 714-6594 to help.
