Burl Sasnett

Byron – Burl Sasnett, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.

Mr. Sasnett was born on August 20, 1931 in Florala, Alabama. He was a longtime, faithful member of Westside Baptist Church. Burl was the owner and operator of Sasnett Fruits and Nuts. He was a hard working man who adored his family and was an avid football fan. His grandchildren were the love of his life. His parents, James Warren Sasnett and Lena Bell Creamer Sasnett and siblings, Mattie Bell Tucker, Joseph Sasnett, and Florine Turner, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of fifty nine years, Josephine Binnion Sasnett, Byron; daughter and son in law, Brenda S. and Preston Brinson, Statesboro; son and daughter in law, Richard Burl and Evelyn J. Sasnett, Fort Valley; twin brother, Earl Sasnett, Winter Haven, Florida; sisters, Sara Frances Sasnett, Auburndale, Florida; Ruby Lee Jordan, Dover, Florida; grandchildren, Ashley Sasnett Jenrette (Don), Richard Blair Sasnett (Kylie), Matthew Sasnett Brinson; great grandchildren, Sophie Grace Jenrette, and Kinsley Amanda Sasnett; and so many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Friday evening, January 18, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Westside Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In memory of Mr. Burl Sasnett, flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
