Burglaries, DUI arrest in Perry
Two burglaries were reported over this past weekend at Georgia Bob’s restaurant and Choice Food Mart in Perry, and a man was also arrested for DUI after weaving on the roadway.
According to a filed incident report at the Perry Police Department, officials were sent to Georgia Bob’s, located at 107 Perimeter Road, on Monday for a burglary that had already occurred. Someone forced entry inside the business and stole money. Also, it was reported Monday that at Choice Food Mart, located at 1521 Macon Road, someone forced entry inside the establishment and took money as well.
In the case of the DUI arrest, according to a report by the Georgia State Patrol, driver Patrick Stacey Thompson, 47, of Macon was traveling east on Commerce Street Friday afternoon, approaching the intersection with Ball Street when he left the roadway on the south shoulder, striking the curb with the right side tires.
The vehicle then traveled onto the sidewalk area where it struck a street light post and a sign with the front of the vehicle. It then traveled back across the roadway and struck the curb on the north shoulder, continuing to travel in a northerly direction across a parking lot before coming to a controlled rest behind a building.
Thompson was arrested by GSP and released for bond the same day. He was charged with weaving/failure to maintain lane and DUI of alcohol.
