PERRY — The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Broken Arrow Outfitters as the August Business of the Month.

General Manager John Cannon describes Broken Arrow as an outdoor clothing and gear store that has been open since 2013.

“We focus primarily on quality goods, not necessarily the most expensive goods always, but what we find is quality goods,” he said. “We try to test the equipment that we bring in and use it ahead of time, if possible.”

Cannon shared the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce has always been super helpful.

“Working with them has been great as they are always keeping us informed about things going on in the community that are business related or different things that may be coming to the community to increase sales,” he said. “They are always open and helpful with any kind of thing that helps our business.”

Cannon said it’s nice to be recognized as the business of the month, as he mentioned they have a great staff who work really hard.

“Obviously, we don’t do it for the recognition, we try to do it to provide a quality service to the Houston County and Perry Area, but it is nice to be recognized and be able to share that with my team,” he said.

Broken Arrow’s way of doing business is what Cannon hopes was one of the main reasons it was chosen as Business of the Month.

“We try to be fair and provide excellent customer service, which is first and foremost to us,” he said. “We try to go above and beyond and help people out as that sometimes makes you money and sometimes it doesn’t, but in the end, I want my customers to be happy.”

Cannon also thinks another reason why they were chosen is their uniqueness to the area.

“There are several other hunting stores around town that are great stores as well, too. When we were coming up with the idea of this place, we weren’t trying to share the market exactly on the hunting side of things with everybody that already does a great job,” he said. “We were trying to provide some different items and things you couldn’t find in this part of Georgia.

Cannon wants to thank the Perry community for supporting Broken Arrow for almost 11 years and said they would not be here without their customers. Cannon hopes to get even more after receiving this recognition.

“That’s the one thing we strive for every day,” he said. “If we don’t have customers, then we don’t have a business.”

Broken Arrow Outfitters is located at 106 Ag Village Boulevard, Perry, and is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
