Bobby Ryals – Breaking down every angle about insurance
Insurance agent Bobby Ryals at Alfa Insurance in Perry, GA is not just here to tell his clients how much you need insurance but he’s also looking to break down every angle about insurance that’s needed to be thoroughly explained.
“With insurance, it’s something that everybody is supposed to have but very few people understand it, said Ryals. “I wanted to change that. I wanted to take the time with my customers to make sure they know what they have, so that policies are built around their specific needs. There’s no point of having it if it doesn’t do what you need it to do.”
Ryals, who took over for Daniel Harvell on March 1 at Alfa Insurance at 1307 Ball St. Ste 10 said that going the insurance route wasn’t always the plan. “I took a break from college at one point and had some friends who worked in insurance at Geico and I kind of got in there,” explained Ryals. “I worked there for almost a decade and then got out of insurance for awhile and moved to Nashville, Tennessee and worked in sales for Dell Computers. Then the economy tanked and I came back to this area, got back into insurance with State Farm and was offered this position.”
Ryals, a Cordele native and graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University, says he wants customers to be able to grasp the entire aspect of insurance. “I want them to understand what they have,” said Ryals. “I think when they understand what their paying for — like little rate increases — if you take the time to explain the value of why insurance is important, then they’re less likely to take off on you.”
Ryals said the aspect he enjoys the most about being an insurance agent has nothing to do with actually being an insurance agent. “You get to meet new people that you might not meet any other place,” said Ryals. “Running into them at Wal-Mart or in public where I get to introduce my wife and daughter or I might meet their family is the part I really enjoy.”
What about the most difficult area of his job? “The biggest is the insurance in Georgia is just high and trying to explain why the rates are so high to our customers can be challenging,” said Ryals. “It pays for injuries and to repair people’s vehicles. It’s a tough time right now because rates continuously increase every six months. It goes back to explaining to customers why insurance is a good value.”
On what makes Alfa Insurance such a prominent insurance agency in Perry, Ryals says he wants his clients to know as much as he knows about insurance. “I think it’s the dedication we have towards our customers,” said Ryals. “Our willingness to not just answer the question but to explain the answer is where we are different from a lot of insurance agencies. I want the clients to know I work for you. I’m gonna be honest with you and look out for your best interest.”
