Bobby Joe Taylor, 66, passed away at home surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday, July 14, 2013. At his request, there will be no service. He asked, instead, that people drop by and visit while he was still here. And they did. The family respectfully suggests contributions to Heartbeats and Hoofbeats, Healing Center Foundation for Children with Disabilities, 7460 Thomaston Road Macon, Georgia 31220.
Bobby Joe was born on October 17, 1946, in Berrien County to the late Coy V. Taylor and Lillian Boyd Holley. He had lived in the Houston County/Peach County area since 1964. Bobby Joe was a working man, and retired from Blue-Bird Body Company’s Wanderlodge Division in 2004. His loves were Jesus; his wife, June; horses; his family; and friends.
Survivors include loving wife of 49 1/2 years, June Sirmans Taylor; his children, Norma and Mike Maddox of Elko; Jerri Taylor-Elkins and Jamie Elkins of Ketchikan, Alaska; his siblings, Alaine Farmer of Perry, and Hilda Nunez of Fernandina Beach, Florida; his grandchildren, Crystal Maddox Corfee, Bobbie Maddox Gaff, Levi Browning, Cade Browning, and Jeana Browning Walker; his great-granddaughter, Ava Ruby Corfee; and several nieces and nephews.
