Betty Lou (Sitzlar) Russell, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at her residence.

Betty was born on September 11, 1936, in Loudon, Tennessee, to the late James and Gladys Imogene (Hall) Sitzlar. She was a faithful member of Corinth Church in Loudon, TN, and attended Second Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA, until her health began to decline.

A devoted wife and mother, Betty was married to Hubert Eugene Collins, who preceded her in death, and later to Reverend Robert Eugene Russell, who also preceded her in death. She dedicated her life to her family as a loving homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, working on puzzles, and crocheting.

Services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Family and friends are invited to visit one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will follow on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Loudon County Memorial Gardens in Loudon, TN.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Linda Collins-Atkinson of Kingsland, GA, Donna Collins Chance (Willie) of Byron, GA, and Sheila Collins Mulcahy (Bryan) of Ft. Myers, FL.

Her grandchildren: Sarah Atkinson Schaffland (Leif) of Dortmund, Germany, India Atkinson Brockett (Charles) of Kingsland, GA, Russell Atkinson (Jacque) of Poway, CA, James Atkinson (Jessica) of Valdosta, GA, Elizabeth Chance Wood (Richard) of Byron, GA, William Lynch (Haydon) of Byron, GA. Her great-grandchildren: Kenney and Rowan Atkinson of Valdosta, GA, Gus and Julian Brockett of Kingsland, GA and her sisters: Viola Johnston of Lincoln, NE and Frankie Lankford of Knoxville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gentiva Hospice, 105 Jim Mason Ct #100, Warner Robins, GA 31088.

With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
