Bears split two games against Buford Wolves; Tiebreaker will decide destiny

WARNER ROBINS, Ga — The Houston County Bears hosted the Buford wolves for their Elite-Eight playoff game. This Elite-* playoff game is apart of the 2022 GHSA class 6A state baseball tournament. Houston County came into this playoff series as the twelfth best baseball team in America. Along the list of accolades and rankings, the HOCO Bears are also considered the best baseball team in the state of Georgia. As the number one ranked team from the Peach state, Houston came into Monday’s matchup sluggish. After no runs were scored in the first four innings of game one, both teams scored twice in the fifth inning. In the sixth inning, Buford scored their final two runs of the game and did not allow any runs from the Houston County Bears. The Bears lost game one 4-2. In Game two, the Bears won a heated 7-6 battle. Thus game came down to the final out. Buford and Houston will compete in a tie-breaker on Tuesday.
