Arrest made for burglaries at gas stations
Early Thursday morning, the Warner Robins Police Department arrested a man who is accused of burglarizing two gas stations.
Robert Lewis Walton, 53, of Warner Robins was arrested and charged with burglary stemming from two incidents. The first alleged burglary attempt happened around 3:57 a.m. when police were called to the Sunoco gas station on Gawin Drive. Upon arrival police found that someone had attempted to break the glass door.
Around 4:46 a.m. police were then called to the Shell Gas station on Lake Joy Rd. where they found the glass door had been broken.
Lt. Don Edwards was on scene and reported that he saw a car leaving the area just before he arrived at the store.
According to a press release from the Warner Robins Police Department other Warner Robins police officers tracked down the vehicle Edwards reported seeing and Walton was in it.
He was charged in both incidents and transported to the Houston County Jail. The investigation is still ongoing.
