Another Top 10 finish for women’s golfers: Rodriguez also in Top 10

VAIL, Colo.—The Mercer Bears women’s golf team has earned its second top 10 finish of the fall season, taking eighth place of 20 teams that competed in the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Vail, Colorado, September 26-28.

Tracy Rodriguez also hit the top 10 leaderboard for the tournament shooting a one-under 215 for the 54-hole tournament. That tied her for ninth place.

As a team Mercer finished at +16, 880, which put the Bears only two shots out of a tie for fifth place. Pepperdine took the team title recording an 846 which is 18 under par, and was 15 shots better than runner-up Kennesaw State. Pepperdine also had the top two individuals, Lion Hugo (10-under, 206) and Lauren Gomez (seven-under 209).

Other Mercer golfers in the tournament were Carol Pyon (+6, 222, tied for 32nd); Kate Song and Camilla Järvelä (both +7, 223, tied for 43rd); and Mikayla Dubnik (+23, 239, tied for 92nd).
