American Madness

Americans: we come in all shapes, colors, beliefs, and backgrounds. Yet many of us are told that if we support the Republican presumptive nominee, Donald Trump, we are mad. Racist. Sexist. Bigoted. Ignorant. Mean. Among other things.

I have otherwise intelligent family, friends, and former colleagues who are flabbergasted that I could possibly support Trump. But maybe it’s not Trump I’m voting for, maybe it’s madness I’m voting against. Bill Maher coined the “madness” term, not me; I’m just elaborating. And if I have to justify voting for Trump, why don’t Biden supporters have to justify the madness?

What is the madness, you ask?

All of these in public schools: A high school student, told to use the word alien in a vocabulary test, asked if that meant other world aliens or illegal aliens without green cards. Suspended three days and “racist” put on his school record. A five-year-old boy comes home from kindergarten confused about whether he is a boy or a girl. A student sent home and told not to come back until he removed an American flag from his truck. A student suspended for wearing a “Two Genders” T-shirt. A student suspended for wearing a T-shirt that said “The Second Amendment shall not be infringed.” Biden’s FBI directed to investigate parents for speaking at school board meetings.

College campuses rife with anti-Israel, anti-Jew takeovers. A pro-Muslim, anti-Israel, rally in Dearborn, Michigan, where rallygoers chant “Death to America!” CNN apologizes for having Trump at a televised town hall. NBC hired the former RNC chairwoman then fired her days later when the other “reporters” objected. Biological males are taking over women’s sports in the name of inclusion, yet NPR and other MSM outlets exclude conservative voices.

There’s more. Democrat-run cities allowing noncitizens to vote. Biden’s open-border policy. Violent “illegal immigrants” (I said it) given open-ended parole into our country, with countless victims as a result (Laken Riley, just one). Denver cuts $45 million from the city budget, including the police department, to fund an annual $90 million outlay for its migrant “newcomers” program. Sanctuary city uber elites (the Obamas of Martha’s Vineyard most notably) who bash Texas and Florida, while rejecting migrant “newcomers” from those very states.

It goes on. Quick-release bond for violent criminals. Electing prosecutors who promise to ignore the law. Lenient sentences for violent criminals. Flash mobs excused by mayors. Race riots fostered by authorities looking the other way. Police departments maligned by elected officials. Homeless camps overrunning cities. Shopkeepers arrested for running off criminals. California can’t explain where they spent $24 billion on homelessness.

There’s more: coal bans, EV mandates, gas appliance bans, the ban on individually wrapped cheese slices, the ban on toys in kiddie meals, soda drink size limits, and plastic water bottle sales.

Trump is petulant, bombastic, confrontational, and egotistical, yet he is the only candidate with the nerve, gumption, money, and cajónes to stand between us and madness. I don’t have to like everything Trump does, but he fills the breach between chaos and the America we love. For decades, we were encouraged to vote straight ticket, a Democrat Party invention. We are, but we are choosing America over madness.
