Q: When did Accordia first open in Houston County? How many locations does Accordia have?

A: “Accordia opened our doors to our Warner Robins clinic on November 20, 2014. We currently have two clinics. Our first clinic opened in Vidalia, GA on May 20, 2014.”

Q: Can you tell us about your company’s history?

A: “Our owners and team leaders are military veterans with extensive histories in medicine. Our medical director, Dr. Jeff Dowis, leads our team of providers. He has an extensive medical background including serving as a flight surgeon in the USAF Reserves, Emergency Medicine Management, and Management of Hospital Operations and Oversight of Hospital Inpatient Services. Our CEO, John Welch, has almost 30 years of healthcare experience including ER management, Hospital management, and Home Healthcare Management. Our management also includes our Director of Clinical Services, Lanie Welch. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner and is a beloved provider in our facilities. Lanie also oversees orientation, training, and placement for providers under the direction of Dr. Jeff Dowis. Our Chief Financial Officer, Mike Sailer, has nearly 20 years’ experience in the medical field and billing. Karen Ouzts is our Director of Public Relations and Marketing. Karen, along with Young Daniel Chambers, develop and manage marketing programs for Accordia Urgent Care. We are blessed with a team of providers and office staff with very compassionate, caring, and knowledgeable backgrounds.”

Q: Tell us about your employees.

A: “Our Houston County clinic is led by Dr. Jeff Dowis. We employ one full-time Family Nurse Practitioner, Mrs. Sally Round. Sally, her spouse, and 3 children live in Bonaire. Sally has experience in Emergency Medicine, Cardiovascular Surgery, Nephrology, and Internal Medicine. While working under supervision from Dr. Dowis, Sally provides knowledgeable and compassionate care to each client she encounters. We also employ two part time providers. Mr. Bobby Lucas is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Mrs. Cyndi Green is a Physicians’ Assistant. Both Bobby and Cyndi have extensive Emergency Medicine backgrounds and make their home in Houston County. Our office managers, Mrs. Pam Martin and Mrs. Valerie Webb, both of Houston County, have extensive Urgent Care management experience and bring customer service to the forefront of each visit. Our medical assistants include Ms. Brandi Johnson, a Radiology Technologist who resides in Twiggs County, Mason Welch, an EMT who lives in Laurens County, and Kaylie Sims, an US Air Force Reserves member and medical assistant who resides in Houston County. “

Q: What services does Accordia provide?

A: “While keeping our renowned low-wait-times, Accordia provides primary and urgent care for all ages 6 months and up including well-child, well-woman, and well-man preventative care. We preform Scouts Physicals and Sports Physicals, Workman’s Comp, and Occupational Medicine evaluations and treatment. We have an in-house lab with point-of care testing and rapid results with capability for send-out testing as well. Accordia has on-site x-ray with immediate radiology reads, spirometry, EKG, drug and alcohol testing, audiology testing, vision screening, vaccination, and much more.”

Q: What are some of the positive ways you impact the Houston County community?

A: “Accordia Urgent Care makes strengthening our community a priority. Our aim is to ensure our community is full of children and adults who have received appropriate preventative and therapeutic care so that each member of our community can participate at their fullest ability. We evaluate the health and safety of workers, drivers, school athletes, scouts, and Armed Services professionals and civilians to ensure that each community member thrives in their given roles. We understand that emergencies happen without warning. When emergencies do occur, Accordia Urgent Care is here to get our community members back to their normal level of functioning fast and with minimal wait times!”

Q: What do you say going into the future is your top priority?

A:”Our top priority at Accordia Urgent Care is to continue providing exemplar medical care to the people of Houston County. We are currently accepting patients ages 6 months and up for primary care and preventative care exams. As our patient base grows, so also will our positive influence on the Houston County Community.”
