Accident leaves one in critical condition
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle accident with injuries early Wednesday morning at Highway 41 and the north end of 41 Circle.
Lieutenant Brian Blanton with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office said the accident involved a Toyota Camry and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was reported to have a head injury as well as a compound fracture to his ankle, and was transported to a local hospital where he was later deemed in a critical condition state.
Portions of Highway 41 were blocked off and traffic was rerouted. Captain Ronnie Harlowe said Friday morning that the traffic division is still investigating the accident and no citations have been issued.
Harlowe said the motorcyclist was traveling south on Highway 41 and the driver of the Toyota Camry was traveling north and was making a left turn into a business when the accident occurred.
