WRALL and PJL teams take home the trophies

Warner Robins American Little League All-Stars East is headed to the Little League State Championship after defeating Vine Ingle 6-4 in the District 5 9-10-year-old championship on Saturday.

After an hour and a half long delay due to a shortage of umpires, the game got off to a blazing start, with Warner Robins scoring three runs in the first inning.

An invaluable asset to the team was pitcher Mario Hughes, who threw a total of 71 pitches and 57 strikes.

At the top of fifth inning, Warner Robins was in the lead with a score of 6-0.

Vine Ingle made an attempt at a comeback in the next two innings, scoring four runs against Warner Robins, but time ran out and the Warner Robins took home the championship.

The State Championship is July 13 where the boys of Warner Robins will be playing against Franklin County.

Both teams played well despite the sweltering Middle Georgia heat and the suffocating humidity, but the defensive prowess of Warner Robins kept the team one step ahead of their competition.
