Five-year-old dies after illness on Christmas Day, death under investigation 

A five-year-old girl died on Christmas Day after being rushed to the hospital with an illness, according to the Houston County Coroner’s Office. Her death is under investigation.

WARNER ROBINS — A five-year-old girl died Christmas Day after being admitted into Emory Healthcare Warner Robins for an illness, according to a Houston County Coroner’s Office Media Release. 

The release said the child had become ill and was taken to Emory Healthcare Warner Robins Emergency Room by her parents around 7 p.m. that evening. The child passed away a short time after arriving. 

The Coroner’s Office said the identity of the child will not be released. The death is being investigated by the Houston County Coroner’s Office, along with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Division.

“An autopsy is being conducted at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab to determine the cause and manner of death,” the release said. 

No further information has been released at this time.
