Veterans

Veterans (2-5, 0-2 Region 2-5A) lost to Thomas County Central before heading into the bye week. The Warhawks will make their first out of county trip to Lee County next week to take on the Trojans.

Warner Robins

The Demons (3-4, 0-2 Region 1-4A) dropped their second straight with a program-worst 61-point loss to Benedictine on the road. After a week of rest and healing Warner Robins will get back at it with a home game against New Hampstead.

Westfield

Brock Johnson (11) dashes upfield against Calvary Christian on Friday. (Michael Hardison Jr/HHJ)

Westfield (6-2, 2-0 GIAA District 5-4A/3A) stayed undefeated in district play with a go-ahead 29-yard field goal from Brock Johnson, who booted the ball through the uprights with nine seconds to go to put the Hornets on top 24-23.

A pair of early turnovers hampered the Westfield offense as Calvary Christian took a 9-7 lead, but as they have before the Hornets found a way to win during clutch time.

Their biggest district test comes next week against Brookwood, who sits at 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the district after their 19-14 victory over St. Anne-Pacelli, who is firmly in fourth place.
