VECTR Center to get community involved this holiday season with Operation VECTR Military Child
The VECTR Center is currently reaching out to the community to get them involved this holiday season by starting Operation VECTR Military Child.

WARNER ROBINS—The Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center (VECTR) is looking to give back to the children of those who have served in the military during this holiday season with Operation VECTR Military Child.
Director of VECTR Center Operations Laura Tallini said this is a way to reach out to more families in the area.
“We always [give back] to one family, and we know that there’s a lot of families in need, so we figured this would be a good way to get the community involved by helping these low-income military families in the Middle Georgia area,” she said.
The VECTR Center was inspired by this idea from Operation Christmas Child, a project started by Samaritan’s Purse, which has delivered millions of shoeboxes to boys and girls worldwide.
Operation VECTR Military Child is similar. Donors are tasked with packing and labeling a shoebox with gifts for a young boy or girl. They can specify their shoebox from four different age ranges: 2-4, 5-9, 10-14, and 14-18.
The shoeboxes must be filled and sent to the VECTR Center by Dec. 11.
“Some fun gift ideas include toys, dolls, stuffed animals, cars and games,” she said.
Donors can also give out personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, and hairbrushes, school supplies, and various accessories like bracelets and hair clips.
“Participating in Operation VECTR Military Child is very important for the community, especially a military community like Middle Georgia and Warner Robins. This allows us to come together and support our military affiliated families during the holiday season,” she said.
Boxes will be distributed to the approved families during the VECTR Center Resource Fair on Dec. 18. All military families in the Middle Georgia area are eligible to apply.
Eligible families can apply on the VECTR Center Facebook page. Tallini mentioned, there is a QR code families can scan to apply on the Operation VECTR Military Child flier, or they can call the VECTR Center at (478) 218-3900.
