Wilson’s Bakery’s dessert burger — by Sandra Hernandez

4.8/5
WARNER ROBINS – Warner Robins Burger Week is in full swing, and Wilson’s Bakery has the perfect “burger” and “fries” for those with a sweet tooth.
Wilson’s Bakery, located in Warner Robins, is one of my favorite places in town. I have fond memories of going with my mom to pick up a birthday cake or simply to get some treats.
Its welcoming and warm atmosphere is truly one of a kind. Once I saw that the business was making a cupcake burger for Warner Robins Burger Week, I jumped at the opportunity to check it out.
The yellow cake of the burger served as buns topped with white sprinkles to look like seeds. The patty was a chocolate cake and on top there was green, yellow and red buttercream icing to give the illusion of lettuce, cheese and tomato.
Like any other burger, you must have fries on the side, which did not disappoint. The fries were made of yellow cake and there was also a cup of icing on the side to dip the fries into. To give it the illusion of ketchup, it would have been perfect if the icing was red. Other than that, it was very creative and sweet. I love Wilson’s icing, so a little extra on the side did not disappoint.
I expected the burger to be smaller based off a photo I saw on Facebook, but it was the perfect size. It was definitely bigger in person.
After eating one, I was already full. However, after a few minutes, I was ready to eat the other burger, but I had to give my brothers and dad an opportunity to try. They were all surprised to see how much it resembled a “real” burger and enjoyed taking a bite as well. I finished off the fries and the icing since it was my favorite part of the meal.
Overall, I enjoyed Wilson’s take on a dessert burger. I love that they went with a cupcake idea because it was creative, fun and a great way to sweeten up the week. The cake was very moist and not dry at all, which was already a good sign that the cupcake burger was not going to disappoint.
I hope the bakery decides to bring back the cupcake burger in the future or bring it back if there’s a burger week next year.
It is the perfect dessert burger for those who have an “over-the-top” sweet tooth like me. My family and I definitely approve and can attest to it being a great “burger” meal.
Wilson’s Bakery is located at 1719 Watson Blvd at the Miller Hills Shopping Center. If anyone hasn’t tried them out already, this is your sign.
Wild Wing Cafe’s Korean BBQ Smashburger — by Owen Jones

4.5/5
WARNER ROBINS—In the spirit of the inaugural Warner Robins Burger Week, I had a chance to eat at Wild Wing Cafe on Wednesday night and try their burger showcased for Burger Week.
I posed the idea of eating there for dinner to my friends Branham, Caleb and Mason. They said the burgers at Wild Wing Cafe were really good overall.
They agreed, and we all met at the restaurant at around 6:30. I had high expectations based on my friends’ experiences eating their burgers, but the burger showcased for Burger Week was something I had never tried before: the Korean BBQ Smashburger.
The burger is described as a double burger patty with smoked Gouda cheese, Korean BBQ sauce, and Asian slaw on a pretzel bun.
I told my friends beforehand that I was getting this burger, no matter what. I showed my friend Mason the picture of the burger. He then read the description and instantly made up his mind about getting that burger.
I kind of convinced my other friends to get it as well, and they all agreed. I was hoping this burger would be good.
When we ordered our burgers, our server said it may take longer than usual. However, good conversation and the atmosphere of Wild Wing Cafe made the wait time fly by. I also ordered pretzel bites as an appetizer so I at least had something to chew on while we waited for our burgers.
Our burgers had arrived, and each looked as good as the one next to us. We all dug in, and instantly, we did not regret our decision.
The mixture of flavors, along with the well-seasoned burger patty itself, which was covered in smoked gouda, was so good.
The Korean BBQ sauce had a nice kick and was just the right amount of spice. My friend Mason does not have a good spice tolerance, to say the least, so he and the rest of us were very pleased with the spice level.
The pretzel bun was also not soggy considering the sauce and everything on it, which we all really appreciated.
Even though the burger was really good, I could not finish it. I ate about three-fourths of it and was too full to finish the burger. Maybe it was the pretzel bites I devoured before our burgers were served.
My friends, on the other hand, ate every bit of that burger. I am glad that they enjoyed it and glad they agreed to accompany me on such short notice.
Hopefully, they will keep the Korean BBQ burger around in the future, and I will definitely be trying the other burgers Wild Wing Cafe offers.
