Food Truck Roundup presents Irish Eggstravaganza
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Warner Robins Food Truck Roundup’s second year starts up this Friday at Perkins Field from 5 to 9 p.m. The event, Irish Eggstravaganza, combines a St. Patrick’s Day and Easter theme.
As explained by Visit Warner Robins’ Marketing Coordinator Lera Moncrief, the event will feature live music from the Muckers, an Irish band from the Atlanta area, starting at 6 p.m., a kid zone, and an Easter egg hunt starting at 5:30 p.m.
“5:30 is the sensory friendly [egg hunt], 6:30 is from ages 0-4, 7:30 is the 4-9 age group, and at 8 o’clock is 10 and up,” Moncrief said.
The roundup will feature 24 food trucks from various locations. Moncrief mentioned many food trucks coming to town, including Peach State Sunset Slush, which has a personal connection to Warner Robins.
“The owner of Peach State Sunset Slush is also a Warner Robins fireman,” Moncrief said.
The event will also feature inflatables, a gaming truck, a photo booth, a face painter, and a balloon twister. Since it is near Easter, Moncrief also mentioned that the Easter Bunny will make an appearance.
“Fairytales and Friends are going to have the Easter Bunny along with three fairies. Everyone will be able to get a picture with the Easter Bunny,” Moncrief said.
Moncrief and the city of Warner Robins expect a decent turnout for this year’s Food Truck Roundup, given the last one in October was successful.
“We had a really good turnout last year. Our last in October was our Trunk or Treat and over 11,000 people came out for that event. We’re hoping to have at least 4,000 to 5,000 [people],” Moncrief said.
The egg hunt and the fact it’s free may contribute to more people showing up.
“It is a free event. All you have to pay for food from the food trucks if you so choose. There will be free entertainment, a free kid zone, and a free egg hunt,” Moncrief said.
This type of event can be considered unique to the people of the city of Warner Robins, as Moncrief mentioned.
“We haven’t had many events in the city of Warner Robins in years past. It makes it unique because we can have a sense of community. You don’t have to really go anywhere to listen to music or have food trucks or have entertainment or have activities for the kids. You can stay here on a Friday night and you don’t have to go outside of Warner Robins,” Moncrief said.
The Food Truck Roundup will be held this Friday, March 22, at Perkins Ball Field, 105 Mulberry St., Warner Robins.
