WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Police are investigating after a shooting on Tuesday night, according to a release by the Warner Robins Police Department.

The department said on Jan. 9, around 8 p.m., officers were dispatched to a home on the 200 block of Randy Circle, just south of Russell Parkway, responding to shots fired.

Preliminary investigation revealed a fight had taken place earlier between 35-year old Lamarcus Graves, the home’s resident, and 33-year old Aundre Pope. Pope was shot during the altercation and transported to Atrium Health Navicent in Macon for treatment, where the police department’s latest update said he remains and is receiving treatment.

Further investigation revealed that Graves shot Pope in self-defense after he forced his way into the house. Police called the shooting a continuation of an earlier incident.

Graves will not face charges, but criminal charges may be filed.

As of press time, the incident is under investigation. Warner Robins Police Department encourages anyone with more information to contact Det. Trent Broussard or Det. Elizabeth Smith at (478) 302-5384 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at (478) 742-2330.
