The wonder of yonder
For all the years that humanity has been around (sucking up oxygen,) I wonder what accolades and merit we have deserved. The Book states that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made”… perhaps the word “mystically” could be added. No debate, we are a prized specimen. Another possible addition could be “puny.” While our progress has been noticeable — we have yet to learn the manner of budget and balance! Not to mention the great Beyond. All hands seem fascinated with the Heavens (the Atmosphere and Stratosphere) above — but pay less attention to Realism and Retention! We observe the Moon (and satellites); but have to retreat when it comes to Jupiter (and thus). We speak only of light years, having aspirations aloof– and possess little knowledge of what it all means! The width, breadth, and depth of our Universes is forever above our paygrade. Scientists can only guess what is behind the “Wonder of Yonder.”
The bright boys of Bridgemoor have hypothesized that there exists an “edge past the hedge” — while gazing at another trillion miles of “nothingness”. Some mellow fellow has suggested that there might not be a “finish line.” Give it some thought! The Pioneer space probe is sailing through void regions at eleven miles per second — headed for a nearby star of the Milky Way (Our galaxy.) If it remains on course, it will be close by in FORTY THOUSAND YEARS. (Approximately ONE LIght Year away!) GET THE DRIFT, BUTTERCUP? There is a message here! We earthlings have placed distance, direction, miles, smiles, and colorful dimensions to all our imaginations. And we could be as disconnected as the song “Buttermilk Skies.” Whoever, Whatever, and However this wide spread of “space spokes” was orchestrated, it demanded a hand far superior to the global view of the pew upon which we sit.
