CORDELE, Ga. — 38 horseshoe pitchers gathered to brave the heat in Cordele, Georgia, to pitch our first post-world tournament on August 5, 2023. Perry Horseshoe Pitchers Club (PHPC) had several winners in Cordele. Class A was settled by a four-person playoff between Marshall Little, Robbie Bloodworth, Scotty Harris, and Royce Byrd. Marshall took 1st with a 7-2 record and 43.33% ringer percentage. Robbie Bloodworth of PHPC took 2nd with a 38.57% ringer percentage and a 5-3 record. Scotty Harris of PHPC took 3rd with a 4-3 record and 38.57% ringer percentage. Class C avoided a playoff only because Dennis Lanning and Willie T Hunter tied in their last game giving Jack Lester 1st place with a 4-1 record and 26.5% ringer percentage. The tied game between Willie T Hunter and Dennis gave them both a 3.5-1.5 record so ringer percentage settled second and third place. Willie T Hunter got 2nd place with 28% and Dennis Lanning of PHPC got third with a 21.5% ringer percentage. Jim Henderson of PHPC had a perfect day with a 5-0 record and 10.5% for 1st place in Class E. Jean Bullington took 2nd place with only one loss to Jim Henderson (their last game) for a 4-1 record and 15.5% ringer percentage. It was a great day for horseshoes!
