When There Is Nothing To Say, Thank Someone
I have nothing to say today.
Freedom allows us the ability to do because others gave up theirs. We fight for it then we give it away.
I have nothing to say today.
As it seems that justice has been reduced to only matter when it is just us. People only speak up when they are directly affected.
I have nothing to say today.
When power is often confused with privilege and privilege is thought of as power. Both intoxicating and addictive.
I have nothing to say today.
Since politicians’ rail against the idea of inequity then send out requests for donations while outlining how they faced inequity.
I have nothing to say today.
As jobs offer higher hourly wages and fewer hours, then wonder why workers are hard to find.
I have nothing to say today.
When we can have new holiday and nothing done to improve the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
I have nothing to say today.
When the news is filled with more stories of mass shootings while there is no story of meaningful legislation to curtail it.
I have nothing to say today.
Knowing that some will return what was taken and others will hide it while acting like they did not know
I have nothing to say today.
When a photo op is more important than the meeting.
I have nothing to say today.
And yet, I am very grateful to have the freedom to say that.
Thank you to all the teachers, freedom fighters, laborers, patriots, service members, abolitionists, officers, fire fighters, activists and historians for giving me the space to have nothing to say.
