PERRY, Ga. — As the work day for many in Houston County drew to a close Wednesday, those making their way home along Houston Lake Road may have seen several police vehicles in the parking lot of the Circle K gas station at the corner of Houston Lake Road and Highway 127.

The Journal spoke with Captain Heath Dykes for more information.

According to Dykes, investigators received information that 37-year-old Jackie Davis, Jr., an individual with several warrants issued in Houston County, would be in the area.

“We had information that he was headed to that area, and we waited for him to arrive and then took him down,” Dykes said.

Davis had several warrants for his arrest on charges of Possession of Drug Related Objects, Probation Violation, Driving under the Influence and other charges. At the scene of his arrest, he was found to have a firearm in his possession. As a convicted felon, he was charged for this offense as well.

Davis was arrested without incident.

Dykes added that additional charges might come in the future.
