Letter to the Editor – Dan Topolewski
Dear Editor,
I read with interest your story about the hazard of pulling out onto Houston Lake Racetrack from Harper’s Ridge. I’ve contacted both the County Commissioner’s office and the County Sheriff’s office on several occasions regarding the need for speed control anywhere on HLR ANYWHERE north of the Dam. We STILL get the doors blown off our car when we hold our breath, step on the gas and pull out, so obviously nothing has been done to date. Didn’t WMAZ report a week ago that a neighboring town raked in $150,000 just by installing a traffic-cam near their schools? There’s a new police officer right there! One can hardly imagine how rich Houston County would be if local Law Enforcement took that aspect of their job seriously.
