Former “War-Town” athlete commits to “The HOUSE”
ATLANTA — Jalen Addie went 13-2 as a junior at Warner Robins. It was his senior season, as to why Jalen Addie is considered a legend within Demons football history and a star to many fans from around Houston County.
Addie is most known for his amazing performance in the Georgia 5A state title game in 2020.
Addie was a former wide receiver for Warner Robins, who started at the gunslinger position during his senior year. During their 2020 title win, Jalen Addie threw for six touchdowns and amassed 366 yards of total offense in their 62-28 win over Cartersville. Addie also recorded over 3,000 yards of total offense during his senior season for the Warner Robins Demons.
As a senior, Addie passed for 2,203 yards and 24 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,055 yards and 14 touchdowns. After a stellar senior campaign, the Demon athlete signed to play collegiately at Georgia JUCO powerhouse, Georgia Military College (GMC). After transitioning to junior college, Jalen Addie did not miss a beat.
While attending GMC in Milledgeville, Addie set a career high in passing yards and touchdowns for the bulldogs. Addie threw for 4,601 yards and 48 touchdowns. As a dual-threat quarterback, Jalen Addie rushed for 1,686 yards and scored 18 touchdowns. The 6’3”, 205-pound quarterback committed to become a student-athlete and continue his playing career at prestigious Morehouse University.
Known as “The HOUSE,” Morehouse University is a Historically Black College & University located in Atlanta. Morehouse football competes in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) within the NCAA Division-Two. The pro-style dual-threat quarterback will join the Morehouse Maroon Tigers this fall.
The Maroon Tigers also released information on how Jalen Addie fits into their overall team needs. Supposedly, the Morehouse Tigers need a quarterback and Jalen Addie is the quarterback that “The HOUSE” desires.
What does exactly does this mean? Well, the Warner Robins native will play close to home frequently, as the Maroon Tigers are inner-conference rivals with nearby Fort Valley State University.
The Morehouse football team is scheduled as the away team against the Fort Valley Wildcats on October 15. This game is a part of the Classic for Columbus, so unfortunately the game will be played at a neutral site in Columbus, Ohio. The Morehouse football schedule consists of five home games for the Maroon Tigers in Atlanta.
