Letter to the Editor – Gary C. Brown

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Dear Editor,

What Happened to Real Men?

I am sick and tired of the stories I hear of the husbands, and even fathers, who work forty hours a week, and then sit on their lazy butts, and play video games, or go hunting or fishing, or play golf, or go bowling, and refuse to help their wives with the housework, or even the kids. You’re not men; you’re wimps!

Big deal! You work your forty hours and pay the bills. Wonderful!

Your wife works 110-120 hours a week and carries more responsibility on her back than any man on earth, and if she asked you to give her a helping hand, you have a childish fit and scream and yell at her, and scare the children.

Real men love their wives and kids, and praise God for them, and do everything they can to make their lives better, and God will bless them for being Real Men!

The late Brother Jimmy Waters, former pastor of Mabel White Baptist Church in Macon, once said, “No man stands, as tall, as he does, as when he stoops to help a child!”

In the twenty-fifth chapter of Ephesians, God commands men to love your wives!

Hey, guys! When you do it right, you show your sons how to be Real Men! We already have too many wimps!
