Northside High School under code yellow following bomb threat
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Northside High School was under code yellow Monday morning, according to Houston County Board of Education.
The Warner Robins Police Department (WRPD) responded to the scene, saying in their social media that their response was due to a bomb threat made towards the school. Fire and EMS crews also responded to the threat.
After searching the building, the police department determined no explosives were on scene, and that the call was from a prank where the school was targeted. The WRPD is investigating this incident, and working to identify a suspect.
Police Chief John Wagner said both the police department and the board of education are taking this threat seriously.
“We don’t take this as a laughing matter, we take this seriously,” Wagner said. “And because [the prankster] has disrupted the school and threatened violence, we’re going to do our level-headed best to make sure that we catch [the prankster,]” Wagner said.
On Monday morning, Northside High School sent a callout alerting parents to the threat.

“Hello. This is Mrs. Markeeta Clayton, Principal of Northside High School. I am calling to let you know that Northside High School has been placed on a Code Yellow following a threat made to the school. A Code Yellow means that all doors are locked as a safety precaution but instruction continues inside of the classroom. The Warner Robins Police Department is at our school with their canine unit to inspect the campus. I will update you once the Code Yellow has been lifted. As always, safety is our number one priority. Thank you for your continued support of Northside High School.”
On Monday afternoon, the code yellow was lifted, prompting another callout:
“Hello. This is Mrs. Clayton, Principal of Northside High School. I am calling to let you know that our school is back on a Code Green after police thoroughly searched the campus. A Code Green means that all school operations have returned to normal. We do not tolerate any threats of violence made toward our school. Law enforcement officers investigate all threats that are received, and even if it is found to be a hoax, it could result in serious disciplinary issues. As always, safety is our number one priority. Thank you for your continued support of Northside High School.”
