Meyers honored by National Horeshoe Pitchers
PERRY, Ga. — Local horseshoe pitcher, Larry Meyers was honored by the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association with the 2019 Top Ten Award.
Larry Myers earned 4th place for the National High Point Average and 7th place for the National High Point Game, in which he pitched at Crisp Horseshoe Club, during the summer of 2019. Larry Myers is also a member of the Perry Horseshoe Pitchers Club and the Crisp Horseshoe Club, in Cordele, Georgia. The Georgia Horseshoe Player of the Year Award was voted into the Georgia Horseshoe Pitchers Association Constitution in 1986. The award encourages participation in tournaments throughout Georgia. Three percent of the Georgia championship prize fund is distributed between the two players who have accumulated the most points during the year (state tournament to state tournament). Points are based on attendance and rank, independent of ringer percentage. Larry Myers won his first award in 2007. in 2007, Larry Myers won Georgia player of the year runner-up and again in 2009. In 2012, Larry Myers won his first of seven consecutive Georgia Horsehoe Pitchers Player of the year awards.
Larry Myers’ most recent award was just another added to his long-list of horseshoe accolades.
