Letter to the Editor – Frank W. Gadbois
Dear Editor,
The new Georgia Republican voter restrictions laws are unnecessary and are designed to deter Democratic voters—especially minority voters! Governor Kemp has described the 2021 voting law as the No.1 ranked Elections Integrity Act. Not true. Not by a long shot!
He wants to eliminate the 1.3 million absentee votes cast in November 2020 for and by Democrats. This from a former state secretary of Georgia, Brian Kemp—who discarded thousands of voter registration forms so that he could be elected our governor!
He also severely eliminated the availability of voter drop-boxes. Seniors and minority citizens like these convenient drop-boxes as well as absentee ballots that our governor dislikes. He also wants I.D requirements on all voting. This will help limit voting by non-citizens who don’t have any desire to even vote or being arrested by trying to do such! The law that forbids those standing in line to receive refreshments from other citizens makes no sense.
We all know that voter fraud in Georgia was non-existent in November 2020 as all votes were counted at least three times with no fraud! The GOP in our legislature had no need for their voter suppression law except to deny minority voters. Shame on them!
