Letter to the Editor – Frank W. Gadbois
Dear Editor,
We have 160,000 new cases of COVID daily, as well as about 100,000 of them hospitalized across our nation. Yet our county school board has made wearing masks and getting vaccinations optional! So, our local hospitals are full of COVID patients and non-COVID ailments are likely to be postponed for a long time.
Our hospital staff must be exhausted and often likely to get infected by Delta viruses, etc. So, the CEO of our local hospital warned us in recent days that those who are vaccinated could likely not be treated for awhile in our hospitals because the COVI patients, who are mostly unvaccinated, are getting all the medical care.
This is a ridiculous and unfair situation. We are rewarding the unvaccinated that are usually COVID patients 99% of the time! We are the patriotic Americans who are vaccinated, yet we are being punished while the unvaccinated are being rewarded for their selfish, insane, unpatriotic behavior.
This makes no sense and will only prolong the current Delta virus pandemic. This all seems crazy for several reasons.
