On Tuesday, July 14 the Church Home Lifespring nursing home in Perry allowed Houston Home Journal to be one of the guests allowed inside to get the first look at their upgrades. The short-term rehabilitation and long-term nursing care facility had some new renovations done and had an event there with guest and residents to celebrate it.

Chief Operating Officer Glenn Smith said their

dining area had been closed down for the past 16 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Church Home embraced this time of closure with a new project undertaking, which was the expansion of the kitchen and dining area.

“This expansion will allow our residents to enjoy meals, as well as utilize this multipurpose space to fellowship and enjoy many activities,” Smith stated. He also said, “We are diligently working to make sure this is another successful project that will be enjoyed by our residents and staff.”

Local governmental officials, namely, Mayor Randall Walker, State Representative Shaw Blackmon and Senator Larry Walker were among those who were present to share in the celebration.
