Fire reported with possible entrapment
A home at 315 Mauk Circle, in a secluded section of Warner Robins, suffered significant fire damage on the evening of Wednesday, March 29. Emergency personnel rushed to the scene after a call from a concerned neighbor claimed there could be four people trapped inside the house.
Houston County Fire Chief Christopher Stoner explained that the county fire department received the call at approximately 6:30 p.m. Upon learning about the initial report stating that multiple lives were in danger, the county fire department requested the Warner Robins Fire Department to send a unit as well for back up in the situation.
“Our crews went in and did a secondary search of the house and couldn’t locate anybody,” Stoner shared. “Warner Robins went in and did a secondary search for us and they didn’t locate anybody, either.”
Fortunately, the fire departments learned that no one had been home at the time of the blaze. The homeowners arrived at the house after the fire had been extinguished. According to Stoner, the neighbor who had made the call was unsure if anybody had been present at the time of the fire and reported, as a precaution, that the four house inhabitants could be inside.
The front and a large portion of the interior of the house suffered significant damage. Stoner stated that there may be a few bedrooms that could be salvaged, but the damage accrued would be deemed a total loss.
Investigators worked on the site on Thursday to determine the cause of the fire. No further details were available at the time of press; however, Stoner assured, “At this time, there’s nothing too suspicious that we’re looking at.”
