Senator David Perdue: Wingman for Robins AFB and Middle Georgia – Brigadier General John Kubinec USAF, retired
Here in middle Georgia, nobody questions the vital importance of Robins Air Force Base to our nation and our community. From August of 2016, until my retirement in July of 2020, I had the distinct honor of serving as the Commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, and during that time, I was privileged to have Senator David Perdue as my wingman.
Senator Perdue is one of us, he’s a middle Georgian, and he knows that “Every Day in Middle Georgia is Armed Forces Appreciation Day.” And just like you, it’s not just a motto to him. He lives it, through his actions in Washington, on our behalf. I witnessed this first hand during my command at Robins, and I can confidently attest to you that nobody fought harder for Robins, and all our men and women in uniform, than Senator Perdue.
From his critical position on the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Perdue fought to secure the largest pay raise in a decade for service members. He also ensured housing improvements for military personnel and their family members, to improve their standard of living. From modernizing military aircraft to creating the United States Space Force, Senator Perdue has been front and center in efforts to improve the readiness of our military. He also worked to pass much needed VA reform and bring accountability back to the VA to ensure we keep our promises to the women and men who served.
Here at Robins, Senator Perdue helped preserve the critical JSTARS mission in the short-term, while expediting the new Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) in the long-term. He has been relentless in his advocacy for this vital new mission, which will not only greatly improve our overall intelligence gathering and battlefield management, but also bring technology that is on the very cutting edge here to middle Georgia, redefining the future of Robins for generations. This is exciting stuff, and it would not have been possible without Senator Perdue’s leadership and tenacity.
As our nation recovers from the impacts of the pandemic, the next few years will be critical for our military, for Robins AFB, and for middle Georgia. The battles are going to get tougher and tougher, and now, more than ever, we need a proven leader to fight for us in Washington.
Senator Perdue is that leader.
Every time I called upon him, he was there for Robins. When we embarked on hiring 1,200 new employees in 12 months, he was there. When we had the innovative idea to partner with Central Georgia Technical College at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport, he was there. When we needed the law changed to expand our software capacity on the base, he was there.
Every time, without fail, Senator Perdue was there for our military, he was there for Robins, and he was there for middle Georgia. We need Senator Perdue to be there for us in the future, and that’s why we must re-elect Senator Perdue in November.
